Cloud storage is one of the key elements of cloud computing.
Cloud storage is available in two different way; Server attached block storage and Server less object storage.
This storage is the storage made available to virtual servers. Customers run operating systems, applications and stores data on this drive. Block storage is the C-drive for your server. Block storage can be added as additional volumes to your virtual server. These disks can be attached and detached on demand and grown in size as required. To ensure data resiliency, snap shots can be made of these volumes. To make sure that data is always available to your virtual server, Wingu stores three copies of all bits of data. This ensures that your server always has access to its data.
This storage is used for storing unstructured data such as video files, documents and music files. Files can be uploaded to the object store using the Wingu cloud dashboard. Users can decide if files are kept private or shared publicly. The Wingu object store is also used as the back-up target for the Wingu back-up-as-a-service product.
Cloud storage in Wingu is charged on a per month per GIG basis, based on consumption. Meaning that you only pay for what you use.
